- Pssst! ~70% of all Modems are Rockwell.
- A connection is only as good as the worst of the two.
- I love the way USR owners talk about great performance
- when most of the time they are talking to "El-cheapo" Rockwell's.
-
- When USR offers a Display under $300, I might consider them.
- I'm not going to spend $400.00+ for modem without a display.
- I'll take a display over a programmable Data Pump any day.
- Based on what I've read here there support is very poor.
- I recently tried a sportster 33.6 and was not very impressed.
- The manuals where much skimpier than the Supra.
-
- With computers I find it best to go with what ever is mainstream.
- As soon as you deviate from mainstream you often get burned.
- I'll stick with CreativeLabs, S3, Rockwell, Intel and Triton and
- Adaptec for now.
-
- Guess who bought MegaHertz (who was considered an El-cheapo
- modem house) USR. Didn't seem to bother USR any that there
- modems did not have programable data pumps.
-
- And Diamond bought Supra, they must be doing something right.
